Reinhart FoodService is keenly aware of the industry wide concern regarding dented cans. We make every effort to reduce the number of dented cans our end-users receive. Our suppliers have been notified that Reinhart FoodService will not accept any cases that are visibly damaged. Our receivers have been trained and have been instructed to set aside and not ship any product they suspect is damaged. Additionally, an incentive program has been developed to reward our warehouse and transportation personnel for care in handling product and helping to ensure product is receive at our customer's facilities in good condition.

Reinhart FoodService is aware of how difficult it can be to determine the acceptability of dented cans. With this in mind, Reinhart has developed a sample dented can policy that customers can customize to develop their own dented can policy.

The "Classification of Visible Can Defects Poster" is a great way to help personnel learn how to quickly identify defects and the degree of acceptable damage in regards to dented cans. This 24" x 36" poster consists of colorful pictures and easy to follow descriptions that illustrate the amount of damage on a can.
